This study reported a 13-year-old boy with warm shock accompanied by cardiac dysfunction. This symptom was caused by severe Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction(JHR) during treatment for leptospirosis. There are few reports of cardiac dysfunction related to the JHR. Although JHR is usually mild, there are some severe cases that could occur within a few hours after antibiotic treatment for leptospirosis, possibly resulting in shock. Close attention is warranted for JHR cases that are starting antibiotic treatment for leptospirosis.
