Group B streptococci (GBS) cause early-onset, late-onset, and late, late-onset infections. Late or late, late-onset infections are more important now than ever before because severe infection due to Haemophilus influenzae type b or Streptococcus pneumoniae decreased after routine vaccination started in 2013. Preterm or low birth weight infants are increasing in those vulnerable to GBS infection. This study reports the case of a five-month old boy who presented with fever and excessive crying. His illness was diagnosed as infectious subdural hematoma caused by GBS. After surgical intervention and antibiotic therapy being performed, he was discharged with no neurological complication. This is the first case of infectious subdural hematoma caused by late, late-onset of GBS infection. A prompt diagnosis and treatment are essential for neurological intact outcomes. Therefore GBS infection should be recognized as an important pathogen.
