Rheumatic fever is a frequent cause of heart disease, however, early diagnosis and therapy reduce the period of morbidity. A case of rheumatic fever was experienced in an 8-year-old boy. He was admitted to the hospital with two days duration of fever and arthritis that preceded group A streptococcal infection. The authors excluded differential diagnosis and the patient was diagnosed as rheumatic fever with erythema marginatum. His symptoms were resolved after starting antibiotic and anti-inflammatory therapy, and he was discharged after 48 days without rheumatic heart disease. Although, recently by the authors, they will treat disease with care, as there is a possibility of afferent and reemerging group A streptococcal infection.
