Clinical study of child inpatients with rotavirus gastroenteritis in a community hospital between 2003 and 2014

This was a retrospective analysis of the medical records of child inpatients with rotavirus gastroenteritis admitted to Asahikawa Kosei Hospital between January 2003 and September 2014. The mean annual number of patients between 2003 and 2010 decreased significantly by 46% (p<0.05) between 2012 and 2014 from 49.4 before the introduction of the rotavirus vaccine to 26.7 after its inception. No difference in the incidence of concomitant diseases was observed.
