This study reports the case of a two-month-old girl with meningitis caused by Streptococcus agalactiae. Subdural empyema complications occurred while under antibiotic treatment using ampicillin and gentamicin, which both had enough susceptibility to Streptococcus agalactiae. The patient was treated successfully with linezolid without surgical drainage. No drug-related adverse events occurred throughout the clinical course. In prolonged cases of meningitis caused by gram-positive coccus, linezolid can be an appropriate choice for treatment after careful discussion regarding the indication.
