Mycoplasma pneumoniae is thought to be one of the triggering agents of Kawasaki disease. We retrospectively analyzed distinctive features of Kawasaki disease cases with positive Immunocard Mycoplasma®. They had significantly higher number of girls, lower platelet counts, and higher ALT and AST levels. Proteinuria and pyuria were significantly more frequently detected in these cases. 57% of all the cases in this study showed positive Immunocard Mycoplasma®, which was much higher than expected. There remains possibility that some factors produced in Kawasaki disease might react with Immunocard Mycoplasma®.
