A one-year old boy with walk disturbance was admitted to our hospital. Physical examinations showed Gowers' sign. Serum muscle enzyme levels were elevated. Magnetic resonance imaging showed inflammatory changes in muscles of the waist and lower legs. These findings led to a diagnosis of myositis. The clinical symptoms were improved gradually and the patient recovered completely after approximately one month. Adenovirus was detected from a feces specimen. Serum CF titer of adenovirus at the convalescent phase showed a significant increase. It is suggested that adenovirus can cause myositis.
