A case of severe pneumonia caused by pandemic 2009 influenza A (H1N1) which was improved by a Biphasic Cuirass Ventilation (BCV)

We have reported a case study of treatment by a Biphasic Cuirass Ventilation (BCV) for a case of severe pneumonia secondary to pandemic 2009 influenza A (H1N1). This case rapidly extended to atelectasis of the whole right lung which was improved dramatically by BCV treatment. BCV may be an effective treatment for some cases of severe pneumonia with atelectasis caused by this type of influenza.
