Yasutaka KUNIYOSHI1), Makoto TASHIRO1), Kiyofumi OHKUSU2)
This case relates to a previously healthy 13-year-old male infant with no underlying diseases. He was hospitalized on the third day of his illness complaining of fever, abdominal pains, and diarrhea. Following hospitalization, his clinical condition improved by the fifth day even without undergoing antimicrobial therapy, but on the same day Campylobacter jejuni was detected in his blood and stools. It is suggested that there maybe a transient bacteremia in the patients who has recovered without undergoing antimicrobial therapy.
